The firm served as lead counsel on behalf of automobile manufacturers in a suit in the Western District of Wisconsin. The suit alleged that the websites of the car manufacturers infringed a patent related to a data model for managing product information. We also represented a major tire manufacturer in a second suit filed several months after the first suit was filed alleging that the tire manufacturer’s website was infringing the same patent. We obtained a summary judgment ruling of both non-infringement and invalidity on behalf of both clients. We also obtained a successful jury verdict in the same case for our clients on a breach of contract claim and recovered over 90% of the attorney fees for the entire case. Appeal pending for two automobile manufacturers. The tire manufacturer has settled and is no longer a party to the appeal.
