Kristin Garris focuses her practice on trademark and copyright litigation and counseling. Ms. Garris has experience with trademark proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office and with infringement cases in the federal courts. Ms. Garris also has experience with numerous domain name disputes before the World Intellectual Property Organization's Arbitration and Mediation Center, other Internet-related disputes, trademark licensing, portfolio management and trademark clearance, trademark prosecution, and copyright infringement disputes.
In 2011, Ms. Garris was appointed Vice Chair of the Wake Forest University School of Law Young Alumni Board and will be Chair of the Young Alumni Board beginning in July 2012. Ms. Garris also serves as a board member for the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) and the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics Alumni Association Board. During law school, Ms. Garris participated in the Wake Forest University Law Review, Moot Court Board, National Trial Team, the International Environmental Moot Court Competition, was a Legal Research & Writing Teaching Assistant, was a co-founder of the Wake Forest chapter of Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, and a co-chair of The Law Fund's 2008 3L campaign.
